A Brief History Of The Naked Motorcycle
Many see Japan as a traditional and respectful society where conformity is the norm, but behind this stereotypical image lies a vibrant sub-culture where new fashions and ideas are constantly emerging. These same creative forces that drive the darker and unconventional side have inspired and shaped the unique MT motorcycles; giving every rider the chance to experience the thrilling torque, outstanding agility and provocative design. The pinnacle of MT crossplane torque, distinct styling and agile handling that lets you dominate the darkness.
I used to ride moto when I was younger and am getting bored with golf Anyone ride any road bikes? I have been eyeing the Yamaha MT 07s to ride on Sunday. Anyone have experience going from moto to street? I live in Atlanta and there are some nice mountain roads not too far from the city that would be fun to ride on. Thread title peaked my interest. Naked bikes are pretty cool, but I'd suggest getting a windshield. That makes sense, but really I don't want to go that over 70 or so. Part of the reason I'd want to get something less extreme would be to meter myself! No need to go like its nothing.
In some respects, motorcycles are like power tools : there are dozens of manufacturers building them and almost too many different kinds to even count, but each one is designed to be best at a specific job. Unlike power tools, though, motorcycles can stir the soul — and take you on adventures that you'll never forget. Standard motorcycles are some of the most common types of bikes on the road. What makes them so popular is their easy-going ergonomics. The long-travel suspension, high seat height and high handlebar position are perfect for both all-day comfort and for standing up in the saddle for better control when the road gets rough. For longer hauls, some modern ADVs have also adopted cruiser style creature comforts; heated grips and seats, radio and GPS systems definitely come in handy when you want to see how far your bike can actually go. Higher seats, lower handlebars and rear-set footpegs characterize sport bikes as some of the most aggressive bikes to roll off factory floors. They can come with engines of any size or configuration, but the basic idea of a sport bike is to bring technology, research and development from the track to the street. Sport bikes also tend to boast higher horsepower and torque numbers than most motorcycles, and usually incorporate lightweight materials like aluminum and carbon fiber — all in the pursuit of performance.
