Coaches at Tremper High School in the Kenosha Unified School District give out awards each year recognizing the most improved or hardest working cheerleaders, but they have also given what they called gag awards. The American Civil Liberties Union of Wisconsin said emails and other documents it obtained during a yearlong investigation showed the awards were handed out for at least five years at a banquet attended by about people, including coaches, family members and friends of students. Hupp emailed Tremper principal Steve Knecht last year to express her concerns after a parent notified her of the awards. Knecht told cheerleading coaches in an April 28 email that he would launch an investigation into the awards after receiving complaints from four different people. He later told a parent who followed up that he had found no evidence of wrongdoing. The ACLU notified the school district of its investigation and concerns from parents in a letter Tuesday. A human resources official met with Uttech a month after that email and directed her to write letters of apology to students and to resign by June 14, according to the documents obtained by the ACLU. Wisconsin high school cheerleaders received awards for having the biggest breasts and butt at a banquet. The group called on the district to take appropriate action against the coaches. Parents who were at the event told The New York Times they were uncomfortable with the contest. Tremper High School Principal, Steve Knecht, was reportedly contacted about the awards by several other coaches and addressed the issue with cheerleading coach, Patti Uttech. The cheerleading coach told Knecht that the awards were first given out in and that the senior class had originally picked them out because of the things cheerleaders are required to do every day. Uttech was asked to resign in May and told if she wanted to still be a part of the team it should be in a behind-the-scenes capacity, the newspaper reported.
Most want nothing to do with the church. The fact that she is dating an atheist non-Mormon shows pretty serious lack of conformity already. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints teaches that all sexual relationships outside of marriage defined as the legal union between a man and a woman are sinful. This woman is a human being, not a caricature of a TBM. I just happened upon your blog I'm a doctor's wife as well - rural family medicine and I just wanted to agree with you that "have no expectations" is awesome advice.
